Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned is one of the earliest cocktails ever made, with its first published recipe appearing in  Jerry Thomas famed "The Bar-tenders guide"  which was released in 1862. Since then, the Old Fashioned has remained a classic cocktail over the centuries for a very good reason. It's made from the key building blocks of any good cocktail, which are: spirit, bitters and sugar. Together it creates a perfect flavour harmony that is sure to delight any drinker. 

 

 

Ingredients

1 Serving
60 ml Scots Gold 12 Year Old
3 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
1 sugar cube
Cherry (optional)
Orange Peel (optional)

Serving

Method

In a rock glass, add the sugar and bitters.

Muddle the sugar and bitters until sugar is nearly dissolved.

Fill the glass with large ice cubes, add your preferred Scots Gold Blended Scotch Whisky, and gently stir to combine.

Express the oil of an orange peel on the glass rim.

Garnish with the orange peel and cherry.
